TNA World Tag Team Championship

The TNA World Tag Team Championship was created in 2007 after the National Wrestling Alliance ended a five-year agreement with TNA over control of their belts. Team 3D were stripped of the NWA World Tag Team Titles on May 13, 2007 -- which led to the creation of TNA's own championships going forward.

NOTES
1) Team 3D were recognized as the first champions under the TNA banner.

2) Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle defeated Team 3D in a "Match of Champions." Joe scored the pinfall and decided to hold the titles by himself.

3) Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe in a singles match. Angle decided to hold the titles by himself.

4) Sting defeated AJ Styles, Christian Cage and Samoa Joe in a four-way match. The stipulation ruled that the winner would become Kurt Angle's new tag team partner.

5) AJ Styles and Tomko defeated Ron Killings and Consequences Creed (who was replacing Pacman Jones in the match).

6) Kaz and Eric Young defeated AJ Styles and Tomko, and the Latin American Xchange in a triple threat match.

7) Kaz and Eric Young were stripped of the titles after they allegedly "cheated" for the win.

8) LAX defeated Team 3D in the finals of a tournament to win the vacant titles.

9) Beer Money defeated Matt Morgan and Abyss, and Lethal Consequences in a triple threat match.

10) Team 3D defeated Beer Money in a steel cage match.

11) British Invasion retrieved the TNA Tag Team Titles in a Full Metal Mayhem match over Beer Money, Team 3D, and Booker T and Scott Steiner.

12) Matt Morgan injured his tag team partner Hernandez to claim sole custody of the titles.

13) Scott Hall and Kevin Nash defeated Matt Morgan in a handicap match. Eric Young also defended the titles with Hall and Nash under the Freebird Rule.

14) The Band were stripped of the titles after Scott Hall was fired by TNA.

15) Motor City Machine Guns defeated Beer Money in the finals of a tournament to win the vacant titles.

16) Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez defeated Bad Influence, and AJ Styles and Kurt Angle in a triple threat match.

17) Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez defeated Austin Aries and Bobby Roode in a two out of three falls match.

18) James Storm and Gunner defeated Austin Aries and Bobby Roode, Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez, and Bad Influence in a four-way elimination match.

19) The Bro Mans defeated Team 246 and The Wolves in a triple threat match.

20) The Wolves defeated the Bro Mans and DJ Z in a no disqualification handicap match.


FUN FACTS
-- Beer Money were the longest reigning champions for 221 days (over 7 months).

-- Beer Money also hold the records for most title reigns (4) and longest combined reigns (498 days).

-- Following their breakup in 2011, both members of Beer Money (James Storm and Bobby Roode) won the titles for a fifth time with separate partners.

-- Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Matt Morgan each held the titles individually, which is extremely rare in tag team wrestling.

-- The Latin American Xchange and Team 3D were the only two teams in history to hold both the NWA and TNA World Tag Team Titles.
