MisterTNA Talks...TNA On YouTube

Recently we've seen that TNA has begun moving their video library onto their YouTube channel and down the line they're going to do the same on Hulu and Netflix. Apparently that’s not the only thing they are going to do to expand their online content. A report several days ago claimed that TNA planned to explore what they could do to expand their presence on multimedia sites, specifically YouTube. As you all probably know by now, I'm the guy that loves to dive into new ideas and lay out how I would envision them happening, so let's get cracking.

A few days after the live PPV, TNA placed Sacrifice on their YouTube channel so users could watch the event for around $22, which got me thinking - what if TNA decided to make live PPV's available to buy and watch on YouTube? Right now, TNA PPV's are available on major PPV providers and the TNA On Demand website, so seeing that TNA are currently uploading their video library from that site onto YouTube, the next logical step would be to do the same with the PPV's. YouTube introduced their PPV service some time ago, but I think now would be a great opportunity for TNA to join the likes of the UFC as organizations that provide live PPV events on the video juggernaut. I think by putting the events up for sale on YouTube, a site that millions of people visit every day, it would probably raise PPV sales and get more people to buy and watch the event than they would if it were on the TNA On Demand website, so in my eyes, if TNA added live PPV's to YouTube, they would reap the benefits.

Now, speaking of TNA PPV on YouTube, another idea of live events could be an exclusive PPV pre-show. When TNA does their PPV pre-shows, they usually stream them live on their Facebook page. While Facebook is a huge website, I don't think it would hurt having the pre-show on YouTube as well. The fact that it would promote the PPV on two major websites is a great opportunity. Plus, two is better than one, so I don’t see why they don’t decide to do this, as well as having an actual pre-show for every PPV instead of the big two like we saw last year.

Another plus would be the revenue that TNA could make from airing the pre-shows on YouTube. While I’m not sure about the specifics, I know that TNA would make a certain amount of money per number of views since they are a YouTube partner, and if there is a deal where you make more for views on a live stream it could make the move even more tempting. Not to mention the fact that if the PPV itself was on YouTube, the pre-show would do exactly what it's supposed to do even more effectively, which is to persuade more people to order and watch the show.

Right now, TNA doesn't have a home for Xplosion in the US, so the simple option would be to put it on YouTube. I've never been able to understand why TNA doesn't put more exclusive content than they currently do, considering they're a YouTube partner. Many people in the US want to watch Xplosion and seeing as how it finds it way onto YouTube anyway, I don’t see why TNA couldn't upload it on their channel first and make money out of their own product.

For some time people have suggested that TNA should stream house shows live and now they have the perfect type of show to do this. Last year, TNA posted the BFG Series matches from the house shows on TNA On Demand that they recorded with only 4 or 5 handheld cameras. Since TNA always brags about how great their house shows are, why don’t they give the fans video evidence and live stream the upcoming Basebrawl events on YouTube? The Basebrawl shows have a unique feel and tend to draw a big crowd, so they could show off an event that they put a lot of effort into and stream it live on YouTube. Whether or not it costs a small fee to watch it would be debatable, but regardless TNA would still make some extra money out of an event they would have put on anyway.

So these are some of my ideas for a potential TNA expansion on YouTube. Feel free to share your opinions and ideas in the comments below; now onto other matters.

Firstly, I would like to thank Talon, JSO, Phenom AJ Jones, Irish Yid and Shelbin, the Asylum originals you could say. Without these guys, there would be no TNAsylum for me to write for. Without their hard work at the beginning, we wouldn't be celebrating a 2-year anniversary. I would also like to thank them for their support and for officially welcoming me into the family 5 months ago. Thanks, guys.

I would also like to thank the rest of the team: FK9, Will Cross, Big Dawg, Garrett Kidney & Jason Blade. These guys are a bunch of fantastic writers and it's a pleasure to be a part of the same team as them, and I know that they are just as happy to be a part of this site as I am and we are all excited for the next year on here.

Finally, I would like to thank you, the readers, because without you coming here almost every day, this site would no longer exist. We may have differing opinions from time to time (some more than others) but we are all still a part of THE haven for TNA fans. This next year is going to be a great one for TNAsylum and I’m happy to be a part of it. Thank You..........
