TNA X Division Championship

The TNA X Division Championship was established in 2002 as the first original title of the TNA brand. It was loosely inspired by the X Games, with a strong emphasis on high-risk, fast-paced wrestling. To this day, the X Division Championship is the longest active title in TNA history.

FUN FACTS
-- In addition to being the first champion in 2002, AJ Styles has gone on to win every major TNA title throughout his career. He was also one of the first wrestlers to compete in and out of the X Division during the early years of TNA.

-- Austin Aries was the longest reigning champion for 298 days (almost 10 months). He relinquished the title to pursue the World Heavyweight Championship, which he won shortly thereafter.

-- Chris Sabin holds the record for the most reigns (8) and the longest combined reign (400+ days).

-- The title has changed hands eighteen times in a triple threat match (gimmicks included). Four of those changes happened after TNA enforced a three-way format for every match in the X Division.
