Know Your Enemy

They never saw it coming..... It was arguably the biggest con in the history of professional wrestling. On that fateful night in front of the largest crowd in TNA history, the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas was the setting for the culmination of a devious plan virtually nine months in the making.

At last, Bully Ray revealed his true colors as he nailed Jeff Hardy from behind with a ball-peen hammer to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and in the process, proclaimed his leadership of the Aces & Eights. Lockdown 2013 would forever be remembered for that one notorious moment, including its aftermath where fans unceremoniously pelted the ring with garbage. Bully Ray had betrayed Sting’s trust, preyed on Brooke Hogan’s heart, swindled Hulk Hogan’s influence, fooled the entire TNA organization -- and he was damn proud of it!

As a matter of fact, Bully Ray had achieved exactly what he wanted since the beginning: to piss off the entire wrestling world. Do you know who he was? He was the master manipulator, the wolf in sheep’s clothing. To the horror of the TNA locker room, the Aces & Eights now wielded the ultimate power and became more dangerous than ever before.

IMPACT WRESTLING began to crumble under the anarchy caused by the renegade biker gang. Heroes became victims, while Hogan succumbed to the stress of dealing with his vile son-in-law. Even the Hulkster's faith in Jeff Hardy to retrieve the balance of power from Bully Ray had failed; so did his efforts to enlist the help of one AJ Styles.

Determined to right the wrongs of his own bad judgment, Sting attempted to unite with Hogan in this time of crisis but was instead scolded by his friend for "messing up the company." The situation turned hostile between the two legends, and Hogan furiously pushed Sting away from his affairs. Not one to back away so easily however, the dark avenger built a reputation of taking matters into his own hands. And so he returned in trademark fashion to fend off the Aces & Eights with his trusty black bat.

After regaining Hulk Hogan's respect and then defeating Matt Morgan in a number one contender's match, Sting finally confronts Bully Ray in one-on-one combat with the TNA World Title and the fate of the company on the line in the main event of Slammiversary XI.

Ever since Bound For Glory last October, Sting and Bully Ray came together in a unique tag team pairing bonded by a common goal to vanquish the Aces & Eights. Despite their contrasting characters, they displayed incredible chemistry in the ring and as a result, developed a strong alliance for months on end. But unbeknownst to Sting, he was being duped by his true enemy as part of a larger scheme all along.

Revenge is undoubtedly on Sting's mind heading into this match. More importantly, he has the golden opportunity to kill two birds with one stone by adding another world championship to his legacy and ending the Aces & Eights' reign of terror at its very core. But in order to do so, this is no ordinary opponent – Bully Ray is more hardcore than hardcore. At what lengths Sting will go to unleash hell on his enemy, that will be most interesting to see come June 2nd in Boston, MA.
