My first question is do you watch TNA and if so how long have you been watching TNA?
I've watched TNA since the very first show. I've always enjoyed an alternative to WWE (which I also love) and very much enjoy TNA to this day.
What are your thoughts on the new Gutcheck Challenge with the fans voting?
I think it's much better organized this time. I still feel there are many people that have no business even being an option, but the cream will rise to the top as long as no one hacks the voting!
Which wrestler inspired you to become a professional wrestler?
The first match I ever saw had me hooked immediately and I knew this was all I'd ever do. Viscera kept me from changing the channel and Crash Holly made me think I can succeed despite my tiny size. I now know that Crash was still a pretty big dude haha!
Who trained you to be a wrestler?
I was trained initially at UPW by the Ballard Brothers, Lil Nate, and Aaron "Jesus" Aguilera. Which promotion do you primarily wrestle for? Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and PWG are my two main promotions I call home. Two very different promotions, but I love them both.
What is your finishing move called and what exactly is it?
It's called the Sex Factor. That name was a joke, based on the fact that I modified the X-Factor, but the silly name stuck for past 5 years! It's a jumping short face buster/piledriver with my knees tightly wrapped around the persons head and neck. I created it with TNA figures. Pretty sure I originated it and haven't seen anyone else ever do it.
What is it like to win your first championship belt?
Well, I've only been a tag champion so far, but it's a pretty sweet feeling. It's like a heavy leather and metal pat on the back from the Booker. A sign of confidence in you as a performer.
If you had a chance to form a tag team with anyone in TNA who would it be?
Well ideally Johnny Goodtime and I would go together! But I would've picked Kid Kash. I know he's no longer with the company as of very recently, but when I was there he really helped me out and gave me great advice. One of the originators of the X division, teaming with him would've been sweet. Plus we both have a lotta tattoos. As for current guys, I'd say Joey Ryan! He's a very close friend and could teach me in the ways of sleaze.
Your Sex factor finishing move would fit ideally with him.
Haha Joey is another guy who has taught me so much. I credit a lot of my success to what he has done for me. He's a fantastic wrestler underneath tons of charisma. A total package! Teaming with him would do nothing but good for me as a wrestler. For those that have never seen you wrestle what makes you stand out? I'm just not your typical small guy. I don't flip, dive, and rarely fly at all. I use my entire body for a lot of moves and just try to be as creative as possible. I also use a lot of my personality to stand out.
How close is your character to the real life version of you?
My character is all me. I can be very abrasive but I just wanna have fun! A super short temper but a heart of gold!
Do you prefer to be a face or do you prefer to be the hated heel?
I just like being myself. Cheer or boo, your choice!
Have you ever had a match with anyone in the Gutcheck Challenge?
I'm not sure of who all is in it, but I'm positive I've wrestled a handful of the guys.
If you could have a match with anyone in TNA who would you choose?
Rematch with Kenny King! I made my TNA debut against him on Impact last year and a couple dumb decisions on my part cost me the match and prevented me from advancing in the tournament. I'm much better than I was a year ago and would love a shot at his X Title!
I remember that match. You were wrestling under the name Lars Only. I know you were in PWG All Star Weekend 9 you did look much better than your Impact debut.
I've been on all but two PWG shows since october of 2010! I am very proud of my Impact match. I feel I did very well, especially considering the restraints you work under on TV. It's not like PWG or any Indy fed. You have to worry about time as well as cameras and other aspects, all while still busting your ass! It ain't easy!
Completely understandable. That swinging turnbuckle hurricanrana was impressive.
Thank you! I only bust that out on special occasions.
Is there anything you would like to say to those reading this interview?
Thank you man! As for anyone reading, VOTE FOR ME! I got a sample of being in TNA last year and I want the whole damn meal! I've been working hard nonstop since then and I hope you all support me in my attempt to get back there! I'm always on twitter so tweet your love/hate at @yumabooma
